Emeli Sandé has teamed up with Nile Rodgers on her latest single When Someone Loves You.
The disco influenced track comes on the heels of the Next To Me hitmaker’s latest album ‘Let’s Say For Instance’, with the singer-songwriter admitting she feels “greatly privileged” to collaborate with the Chic superstar.
“He’s such a legendary musician and producer, a true icon in music,” she beams. “His humility and passion inspired me so much in the making of the music and I feel that the excitement and positivity in the studio transmits through the song.
“I’m very proud of When Someone Loves You and I hope it brings joy to each listener.”
Nile adds: “I’ve loved working with Emeli over the years as she is such a special talent but I’ve never seen her as happy and full of life as she is right now.
“She has found herself and it’s beautiful to behold.”
Alongside the single, the pair have shared a music video which features song’s lyrics atop an animated night out at the club, with the musicians’ heads replaced by disco balls.
Emeli’s recent album ‘Let’s Say For Instance’ gave the hitmaker her fourth UK Top 40 album and was preceded by the single There Isn’t Much,
In a review of the album, Retro Pop said the project “shifts effortlessly between genres while remaining faithful to Emeli as an artist”.
