Elton John appears to have recorded an album with Brandi Carlile.
The Rocket Man hitmaker and the Americana star completed the collection in just two weeks in Los Angeles, according to Elton’s pal Pete Townsend.
He told Clash: “Elton is so fraught with loss at not knowing what to do next. He’s just gone over to LA to make an album with Brandi Carlile. They made an album together in two weeks. He says it’s one of the best things they’ve ever done.”
Carlile joined the Tiny Dancer singer to perform Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me at his final US concert at Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium in November 2021, and recorded the duet Simple Things for his 2021 ‘Lockdown Sessions’ album.
Meanwhile, the musician teased he and songwriting partner Bernie Taupin had completed work on a record during the latter’s Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction last November.
Presenting the honour, he said: “Our success story is what it is, you all know… Through the years we grew and we grew and we grew.”
“We climbed mountains that we never thought were possible to climb, and we scaled heights that we never thought were possible to scale. And throughout that time, we never ever really had an argument.”
“He was disgusted with my behaviour, yes, that’s a given. But to this day, we are still growing as a partnership,” he added.
