Duran Duran helped light up the Capitol Records building in blue and yellow in support of the people of Ukraine.
The group performed an intimate gig on the rooftop of the Aster nightclub close by the building and, while they performed their 1992 song Ordinary World, it boasted the colours of the country’s flag.
In a statement shared alongside a clip of the performance, bassist John Taylor said: “We are appealing to our fans in Russia to have an open heart and to support peace. We are all hoping you can get back to an ‘Ordinary World’.”
Duran Duran also backed a £50,000 crowdfunding initiative by Just Giving, which aims to raise funds for mothers and children who have been displaced by the recent attacks on Ukraine by the Russian military.

Last year, Duran Duran released their 15th LP ‘Future Past’, which peaked at No. 3 on the UK charts.
In a review of the album, Retro Pop called ‘Future Past’ “the group’s strongest album in years” and a record that “opens new musical possibilities for Duran Duran”.
