Brooklyn is the latest single to be issued from Donna Summer’s new ‘I’m a Rainbow – Recovered & Recoloured’ reissue.
The track was originally recorded for the star’s ‘lost’ ‘I’m a Rainbow’ album, which was intended as the star’s second release for Geffen Records with producers Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte, but was axed weeks before release.
It remained on the shelf until 1996, when an expanded 18-track version materialised, featuring tracks from the original sessions, including cuts like Romeo and Highway Runner which later appeared on movie soundtracks.
Now, a slimmed-down, 10-track version of the album is to be issued, featuring the tunes completely re-imagined by a host of international producers, including the new Ladies on Mars ‘Child of Rhythm’ mix.
Junior Vasquez, Le Flex, Jean Tonique and Figo Sound are among those who have also contributed to the release, which is due out October 8.
‘I’m A Rainbow – Recovered & Recoloured’ is available to pre-order on A5 Mediabook CD and 2LP Clear Vinyl.
