Denise Nolan breaks away from her singing sisters for a triumphant solo debut.
The group may be known for disco classics like Attention to Me, Crashing Down and the mighty I’m In The Mood For Dancing, but on her first full-length outing, the second eldest Nolan sibling strips things back with a rousing selection of 12 standards, showcasing her love of the Great American Songbook.
Coinciding with her 60th year in showbiz, the album sees Denise unite with Grammy-nominee John Coleman for the project, which includes stunning takes on My Funny Valentine, I Fall In Love Too Easily and Someone To Watch Over Me – some of the singer’s all-time favourite compositions.
Also included is a rousing rendition of the Cole Porter classic Every Time We Say Goodbye, which Denise debuted on her family’s TV show, ‘The Nolans Go Cruising’.
The arrangements are stellar, the vocals sublime and at this stage in Denise’s career, it’s a pleasure to see her follow her passion with such spectacular results.
‘For You, My Love’ is available on CD.
