Darin has released his latest single Superstar.
The Swedish pop star announced the new track in a post across social media, featuring the artwork for the song.
It’s Darin’s first new release since his festive single What’s Christmas Anyway.
Speaking in the May 2022 edition of Retro Pop, the star – who came out as gay in 2020 – opens up on how embracing his sexuality influenced his new music.
“Right now, I feel more free,” he says. “A lot has happened personally and artistically that I haven’t even shown to the world yet. I’m hoping my new music can somehow also help others to see a light at the end of the tunnel. A disco light.”
The singer, who recently released the singles Can’t Stay Away and Holding Me More, adds: “This is the real me right now. I’ve noticed that I always change, because I love to experiment with things and evolve as a person and as an artist.
“A lot has happened in my life. These last two years… I think something good came out of something bad – with the pandemic – because I had a lot of time to think about things and that made me open up to this new style that I have.
“For me, it’s been a process, but what I’m doing now feels very natural. It very much represents the person I am today. The way I express myself is more colourful and more happy… It’s like a mix of different styles; it’s soul, disco, pop, all housed in one.”
