Damon Albarn is back with another preview of his new solo LP.
The Blur and Gorillaz star has shared The Tower Of Montevideo as the latest cut from ‘The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows’.
Inspired by Palacio Salvo, an iconic 1920s building in Uruguay, it explores Albarn’s melancholic wonder at this part of South America, where Rio De La Plata meets the South Atlantic, a place he has described as both “familiar and utterly otherworldly.”
Due November 12, Damon has released four songs from the record – Royal Morning Blue, Polaris, Particles and the title song – which, according to a press release, “explore[s] themes of fragility, loss, emergence and rebirth”.
He says: “I have been on my own dark journey while making this record and it led me to believe that a pure source might still exist.”
‘The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows’ is available to pre-order now on CD and vinyl.
