Cyndi Lauper leads the stars appearing in the LGBTQ+ Stonewall Gives Back! benefit concert.
The concert will be hosted by RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage and Tyler Oakley, and will support LGBTQ+ workers in the entertainment industry affected by the coronavirus crisis.
Troye Sivan, Todrick Hall, Rufus Wainwright, Kim Petras, and Allie X are among the pop stars performing, with World of Wonder co-founders Randy Barbato and Fenton Bailey commenting that the show will “build opportunities and access for the (LGBTQ+) community”.
“The Stonewall Inn in New York City has, for decades, served as a beacon of hope in the LGBTQ+ community,” they said. “In that same spirit, we are thrilled to partner for this one-night-only concert to offer help and support to the LGBTQ+ community during this difficult time.”
The gig will take place Thursday at 8 pm EST – that’s 12 pm UK time. It will stream on World of Wonder’s YouTube channel, where it will be accessible after the broadcast has taken place.
