Coldplay have added new shows in London and Paris to their 2022 ‘Music of the Spheres’ World Tour.
The group is set to hit the road in March for the global trek, with the European leg due to begin in July.
Initial dates were announced last week and, on Wednesday, Coldplay confirmed a fourth night at London’s Wembley Stadium on August 19.
Special guests London Grammar will open the show, having previously been confirmed for the August 16 date.
Also added to the jaunt is a third Paris performance on July 19.
For the tour, Coldplay – starring Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, Will Champion and Phil Harvey – have pledged to provide each venue with a sustainability rider requesting best environmental practices.
“We’re very conscious that the planet is facing a climate crisis,” they said. “So we’ve spent the last two years consulting with environmental experts to make this tour as sustainable as possible, and, just as importantly, to harness the tour’s potential to push things forward.
“We won’t get everything right, but we’re committed to doing everything we can and sharing what we learn.
“It’s a work in progress and we’re really grateful for the help we’ve had so far. If you’d like to come to a show and sing with us, we’re so excited to see you.”
Coldplay’s ninth studio album features lead track Higher Power and BTS collaboration My Universe.
In a review of the album, Retro Pop said ‘Music of the Spheres’ is “well crafted” but “lacking in excitement and spontaneity”.
