Coldplay were forced out of two performances over the weekend following positive Covid tests in their team.
The group – who released their ninth album ‘Music of the Spheres’ earlier this year – were due to play at the Capital Jingle Bell Ball in London on Saturday and on The Voice of Germany the following day.
But in a statement on social media, the My Universe hitmakers confirmed they had to cancel the shows because of the virus.

“We send our love to the individuals affected and wish them a swift recovery,” they penned.
“We’re so sorry to cancel at the last minute and apologise to everyone concerned,” Coldplay added. “Thank you, as always, for your support.”
The group did not confirm whether or not any of the group, fronted by singer Chris Martin, had been affected.
Coldplay’s latest album was preceded by lead track Higher Power, which they premiered via live link to astronauts on the International Space Station.
In a review of the album, Retro Pop said ‘Music of the Spheres’ is “well crafted” but “lacking in excitement and spontaneity”.
