Claire Richards is back with I Surrender – the lead single from her second solo album, ‘Euphoria’.

The track, a cover of Celine Dion’s 2002 ballad, has been re-worked into a disco extravaganza by producer Steve Anderson, setting the tone for a new era while showcasing the Steps superstar’s standout vocals.

Claire first performed the track as a solo number on the group’s ‘Ultimate Tour’ in 2012 but never found the right time to record it. “I also sang it during my ‘Claireoke’ sessions in lockdown, so fans have been asking for a recorded version for a while,” she says.

Listen to I Surrender and watch the official music video below.

The follow-up to 2019’s ‘My Wildest Dreams’ showcases the Steps star’s powerful and stunning vocals on a lovingly curated collection of covers of songs by female singers who have helped shape her as an artist.

“Every single song is a banger – listening to this album just makes me feel good,” says Claire. “I want everyone to whack it on before they go out and get themselves completely in the zone of having a good time.”

Alongside the single, the LP launches with its title song, originally by two-time Eurovision winner Loreen, and includes versions of Cher’s Song For The Lonely, Donna Summer’s This Time I Know It’s For Real and Whitney Houston’s So Emotional.

There are also two powerhouse duets, with Australian superstar Delta Goodrem joining Claire on their own rendition of Barbra Streisand and Donna Summer’s No More Tears (Enough Is Enough), while Erasure frontman Andy Bell features on a new version of ABBA’s Summer Night City.

Coinciding with the release, Claire will play a run of live dates across the UK throughout the summer.

‘Euphoria’ is out August 25 on Demon and available to pre-order now.
