Chris Martin compares himself to Anthony Hopkins’ movie character Hannibal Lecter when it comes to Twitter.
The Coldplay frontman has been active on the platform promoting the band’s latest release ‘Music of the Spheres’, due out October 15.
But getting his posts published is far from simple, as the singer goes through several lines of defence before his messages finally reach fans.
The Yellow hitmaker told Rob Brydon on his podcast: “It’s a bit like Hannibal Lecter and how many lines of defence there are for him to get out into the real world. That’s what I have with tweets.
“For me to tweet it has to go through a number of checks and balances to make sure it is relatively OK. I can’t just write something and tweet it.”
Coldplay’s new album features the previously-released Higher Power, which premiered in June via live link to astronauts on the International Space Station, along with the 10-minute epic Coloratura.
The band’s previous LP ‘Everyday Life’ was released in November 2019 and the band teased its follow-up in the liner notes for that record.
Chris previously revealed ‘Music of the Spheres’ was inspired by his love of the Star Wars movies, sharing: “One time I was watching ‘Star Wars’ and they had the scene with the Cantina band right.
“And I was like: ‘I wonder what musicians are like across the universe?’ and that led to this whole thing and now here we are.”
