Cheryl Baker is keen for The Fizz to reunite with Bobby G for a one-off Bucks Fizz comeback show.
The group launched in 1981 and won the Eurovision Song Contest with their chart-topping classic Making Your Mind Up, which helped launch a hugely-successful career.
After four albums, Jay Aston exited the group, leaving Cheryl, Mike Nolan and Bobby G to recruit Shelley Preston, but after one further album a series of line-up changes took place with little new material.
Now, Cheryl, Mike and Jay perform and release music as The Fizz and, with the United Kingdom set to host Eurovision 2023 following the band’s 40th anniversary, there’s talk of the original line-up getting back together.
“It was our 40th anniversary last year, and we did ask Bobby G if he’d like to come back just for one gig – but he said no,” she said (via The Mirror)
“Perhaps for next year for Eurovision he would reconsider. I’d love that to happen. There’s been a lot of messy water that’s gone under the bridge, but we have a big history together.
“I think it would be really nice to get together for that big occasion.”
