Cher has shared an update on her forthcoming projects as she prepares to return with new music, a memoir and biopic.
The pop icon is gearing up to release her first album in five years, her first-ever Christmas LP, which she insists is “not your mother’s Christmas album”.
“It’s a Cher Christmas album, whatever that brings along with the name,” she tells The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s definitely my idea of a Christmas album. I had to do what I felt. There’s no Silent Night.”
While a release date has yet to be confirmed, it’s one of a number of ventures in the pipeline for the One By One singer, who is also finishing off her memoir – which she first announced in 2017.
“Well, we’re almost finished because [my publisher] goes, ‘Cher, how long are you going to work on this?’…” she laughs, adding, “We’re so close.”
However, the same can’t be said for a biopic of her life and career, with the singer sharing: “We are kind of starting again. It just wasn’t working out, and we needed to adjust some of the things.”
Work is believed to be on hold amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.
