Caro – the former frontwoman of Dutch jazz-pop collective Caro Emerald – is back with her second solo album ‘Returning To Innocence’.
The singer-songwriter was the voice behind hits such as ‘Back It Up’, ‘That Man’, ‘A Night Like This’ and ‘Tangled Up’, and topped the UK Albums Chart with Caro Emerald’s sophomore LP ‘The Shocking Miss Emerald’ back in 2013.
In 2023, she released her debut solo project ‘Nowhere Near The Sky‘ under the alias The Jordan – and now she’s back, as Caro, with the follow-up due for release on October 9.
Featuring recent single ‘I Can’t Win’ and new track ‘Greatness’ – which is out today – the LP features 14 songs, including ‘Goddess’ and ‘Worship Me’, both of which have been included in her live shows over the past few years.
The project is billed as the artist’s “most vulnerable work to date” and “a deeply personal exploration that reflects on womanhood, both how it’s lived and how it’s imagined”, with influences including Lorde, Frank Ocean and Enigma.
‘Returning To Innocence’ is out October 9 and available to pre-order from Amazon, HMV, Rough Trade, Townsend and more. Listen to ‘Greatness’ below.
