Chaka Khan has shared another track from her upcoming album ‘Chakzilla‘ – the self-referential ‘Curious Subject’.
The third cut from the funk legend’s upcoming 13th album – due September 18 via BMG – once again teams her with chart-topping pop star Sia and songwriter-producer Greg Kurstin, and sees the ‘Through The Fire’ singer reflect on her experiences of getting older and the passing of time.
‘My therapist, my friends, they say I got a lot going on / They tell me that I’m a curious subject,’ she sings over soulful, jazzy beats.
It follows previous singles ‘Boogie’s in My Soul’ with Snoop Dogg and the title song.

“This album is about joy. It’s about freedom. It’s about loving yourself, loving each other, and finding your power no matter where you are in life,” says Khan on her latest record.
“I’ve lived a lot of life since my last record, and I wanted these songs to celebrate that,” she adds. “This music is about being human, feelin’ good, and stepping into our power.”
‘Chakzilla’ is out September 18 via BMG and is available to pre-order from Amazon, HMV, Rough Trade, Townsend and more.
