Céline Dion has cancelled her remaining North American ‘Courage World Tour’ shows.

The singer had completed the first 52 shows of the trek, before the Covid-19 pandemic shut down the production in March 2020, and planned to return to the stage on March 9 this year.

However, the Think Twice diva has since scrapped the remaining shows altogether, as a result of  “severe and persistent muscle spasms”.

“I was really hoping that I’d be good to go by now, but I suppose I just have to be more patient and follow the regimen that my doctors are prescribing,” said Céline in a statement.

“There’s a lot of organising and preparation that goes into our shows, and so we have to make decisions today which will affect the plans two months down the road.”

She added: “I’ll be so glad to get back to full health, as well as all of us getting past this pandemic, and I can’t wait to be back on stage again.

“Meanwhile, I’ve been very touched by all the words of encouragement that everyone’s been sending to me on social media. I feel your love and support and it means the world to me.”

Ticket holders will receive an email notification with more information on refunds, while the Europe leg of the ‘Courage World Tour’ remains scheduled to begin on 25 May in Birmingham, England.

Céline previously delayed performances from November 5 to 20, 2021 and January 19 to February 5, 2022 due to her medical issues, admitting the symptoms she is experiencing are prohibiting her from rehearsals.
