Originally written for 2003 Christmas romantic comedy, the band have finally recorded a version 20 years after its inception for their upcoming ‘Hopes And Fears’ reissue.
The track is the band’s first release since their chart-topping ‘Greatest Hits 2.0’ LP and reunites the trio with Phil Gornell, who also produced that album.Â
Originally recorded and released by Petula Clark and later covered by acts including Dolly Parton and Emma Bunton, Martin previously put out a rendition of the track as part of a medley with It’s Getting Better.Â
The sibling quartet shared the track ahead of the release of ‘Best Of The Corrs’ on Friday, December 1.Â
Written by Charlie Mason – whose credits include Rise Like A Phoenix by Conchita Wurst – and Möns Ek, the feelgood track follows her Eurovision covers album, which arrived in April.Â
The seasonal ballad is written by the Yorkshire-born singer-songwriter and taps into the nostalgia of the holidays and the Christmas period in general.Â
The group’s new track was recorded at Ocean Way Nashville Recording Studios and is an “early Christmas present” for fans.Â
The track was the first to be lifted from the ex-Eternal star’s 30th anniversary ‘Greatest Hits’ LP, which saw her return to the charts earlier this year.Â
Previously featured as the closing track on ‘A’ (2013) and the recent ‘A+’ (2023) reimagined album, a third version of the song has been shared digitally.Â
The South Korean DJ and producer has followed her summer smash (It Goes Like) Nanana by teaming up with the rock legend on the track.Â
