Ahead of the release of their ‘Greatest Hits 2.0’ LP next week, Busted have shared their brand new original single, Good One.
Underpinned by synths and led by melancholy lyrics accepting that the relationships, friendships and connections we have at this moment in time won’t last forever, the track nods to the past while looking to the future of the band.
Charlie Simpson says: “Good One is all about the nostalgia of friends not seeing each other for a long time and making the most of the moments you get with each other so it seemed particularly appropriate for us to release around our greatest hits tour, when we are seeing so many faces that we haven’t seen for such a long time”.
The track was written by Busted – also starring James Bourne and Matt Willis – and was produced by Phil Gornell.

Having shared reimagined 2.0 versions of Loser Kid (feat. Simple Plan), Meet You There (feat. Neck Deep) and Crashed The Wedding (feat. All Time Low), the group will release the collection on September 15.
The trio launched the LP alongside another crowd-pleasing collab as Busted were joined by Jonas Brothers for a rejuvenated take on Year 3000, lifted from the special edition of the record which collates newly recorded versions of all of the band’s biggest hits, fan favourites and live staples.
The album’s deluxe formats also feature duets with McFly, James Arthur, You Me At Six, The Vamps, Bowling For Soup, Dashboard Confessional, Deaf Havana, Wheatus and rising newcomer Charlotte Sands.
Also featured is a new version of Hanson’s MMMBop, a collaboration with the sibling trio.

The Air Hostess hitmakers are currently on the road with a 26-date arena tour, in support of their ‘Greatest Hits 2.0‘ collection, with shows booked across the UK and Ireland.
Speaking exclusively in RETROPOP’s May 2023 cover feature, Busted opened up about their latest tour, with Matt promising it will be their “best ever”. “We have so many ideas,” he teased. “We’re in the stage where we’re throwing everything at people and they’re saying, ‘Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.’ Then they come back and say, ‘No, no, no, no, no – that’s gonna cost you all of your money. You can’t do that!’
“But at the moment, we’re just coming up with the coolest shit we can think of and if 30 per cent of what we’ve come up with happens, it will be the best show ever.”
