Bryan Adams is set to be inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.
The Summer of ‘69 hitmaker will be honoured alongside his longtime collaborator and songwriting partner, Jim Vallance, at the ceremony later this year.
The pair began their working relationship on Bryan’s 1983 album ‘Cuts Like a Knife’ and went on to score a global smash hit with follow-up ‘Reckless’, featuring singles such as Run to You and Heaven.
Most recently, Jim contributed to Bryan’s latest album ‘So Happy It Hurts’, out now, along with the music and lyrics for ‘Pretty Woman The Musical’.
The Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony takes place at Torontos Massey Hall on September 24.
Speaking in the April 2022 edition of Retro Pop, Bryan opens up about his new album, which was born in 2020 when he found himself stuck at home after his US Tour with Bon Jovi was axed.
“I already had a load of time on my hands, so I just went through my coat pocket and got all the bits of paper with some ideas on them, put them on a bulletin board in my studio and started just trying to make songs out of them,” he explains. “By the end of the year I had an album.”
