It’s been eight years since Britney Spears performed the final show on her ‘Piece Of Me’ tour, but the pop superstar says she’s finally ready to get back on stage.
In the years since she last played a live show for fans, the ‘Gimme More’ singer was locked in a legal battle surrounding a court-imposed conservatorship, which was finally brought to an end in 2021.
Since then, she’s remained largely out of the spotlight, releasing only two songs: the Elton John collaboration ‘Hold Me Closer’ and ‘Mind Your Business’ with will.i.am.
Despite doubts about whether she’d ever perform again, in a post on Instagram the ‘Womanizer’ hitmaker opened up on her plans for the future.
“I will never perform in the U.S. again because of extremely sensitive reasons,” she penned. “But I hope to be sitting on a stool with a red rose in my hair, in a bun, performing with my son … in the UK and Australia very soon.
“He’s a huge star, and I’m so humbled to be in his presence!!! Godspeed, little man!!!”
In the same post, Spears also discussed posting videos of herself dancing on the platform in an effort to “heal things in my body that people have no idea about”.
“Yup and it’s embarrassing sometimes … but I walked through the fire to save my life,” she added.
