Britney Spears has filmed a role in The Weeknd’s new HBO series ‘The Idol’
The Gimme More singer took to Instagram to share a reposted picture of a cat sitting next to a glass of wine, as she shared her excitement about the casting. .
“I just shot a movie titled ‘THE IDOL’ … it’s guaranteed to have hits and a lot bright pics to put in my beautiful family’s faces !!!!!” she penned on Instagram.
“I hope you guys are having a merry ole jolly time cause I sure am !!!! If I go quiet from time to time, you can catch me with this cat somewhere !!!!”
The Weeknd will star in, co-write and executive produce the six-part series, which centres on a female pop singer who enters into a relationship with a cult leader and self-help guru.
The role will be Britney’s first since a Los Angeles judge ruled to terminate her 13-year-long conservatorship earlier this month, following a fight from the star to relinquish dad Jamie of his control over her life.
