Britney Spears has requested her next conservatorship hearing be brought forward from September to later this month.
The singer is set to face off against dad Jamie in court over the legal arrangement, which has put him in control of various aspects of her life since 2008, leaving her “depressed” and “traumatised”.

According to Rosengart, the conservatorship is causing Britney to lose sleep, with her personal conservator, Jodi Montgomery, stating: “Mr. Spears’s removal as Conservator is critical to [Britney’s] emotional health and well-being and in the best interests of the conservatee.”
Rosengart adds: “Every day that passes is another day of avoidable harm and prejudice to Ms. Spears and the Estate.”
It’s not just Britney’s personal wellbeing that’s at risk, with the attorney insisting the conservatorship is also a threat to Britney’s financial health.
“There has been an evident dissipation of assets of Ms. Spears Estate, and that dissipation is ongoing,” he states, reported TMZ.
According to the papers, Jamie’s litigation counsel is asking for more than $1.3 million in attorney’s fees for services performed between October 2020 and June 2021.
He also claims Britney’s dad has submitted $541,000 for “media matters,” while urging the court to immediately suspend Jamie from his duties if they can’t agree to change the date of the forthcoming hearing.
Jamie’s representatives have denied all previous allegations made by Britney and insisted he would not step away from the conservatorship when Rosengart called on him in court to voluntarily resign.
Admitting she’s been left “traumatised” and “depressed”, Britney pleaded with a Los Angeles judge to call time on the conservatorship back in June and shared her wish to cut ties with her father and open legal proceedings against her family.
Off the back of the hearing, the Work B**ch hitmaker was granted permission to select her own legal counsel, following the departure of court-appointed attorney Sam Ingham.
