Britney Spears has insisted she “sure as hell knows who she is” as she shared a montage of career highlights on social media.
The singer hasn’t performed on stage for three years and admitted she has “no idea” when she’ll return while under the conservatorship that’s been in place for 13 years.
Legal proceedings have so far seen her dad Jamie Step down from his role and, as the Womanizer star and attorney Mathew Rosengart continue to fight the case, Britney took a moment to look back on her pop career.
Alongside a video montage, featuring classic hits like I’m a Slave 4 U, Toxic and Me Against the Music, plus performances with Michael Jackson and at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, she penned: “For some reason I feel like the world needs to be reminded…
“I may dance in my living room now but I sure as hell know who I am,” insisted the Work B**ch star, who added: “Most of these accomplishments were from BEFORE the conservatorship.”
The caption has since been removed from Britney’s Instagram post and replaced with three red lip emojis.
Britney has been fighting to remove her father from the controlling role he has held for 13 years while seeking an end to the overall conservatorship, which has left her “traumatised” and “depressed”.
Following a legal filing from Jamie’s lawyer, in which he agreed to work on an exit strategy off the back of “unjustified attacks” from Britney’s supporters and members of his own family, the singer seemingly shared her excitement with a clip of herself dancing and a message about “freedom”.
