Bright Light Bright Light celebrates the 10th anniversary of his debut album ‘Make Me Believe in Hope’ with a mega expanded reissue.
Clocking in at 49 tracks, the 4CD deluxe re-release features the original LP, released in 2012, alongside a host of unreleased songs, B-sides and remixes from the record.
A decade on, the album stands the test of time, sounding on point with current chart trends and proving the singer-songwriter aka Rod Thomas has always been one step ahead of the game when it comes to pop excellence.
Although not a commercial hit upon its initial release, ‘Make Me Believe in Hope’ was met with critical acclaim – coming fourth on The Guardian’s Reader Choice: Best Albums of 2012 poll – and with stellar singles like Disco Moment, Feel It and Moves, it’s not hard to see why.
Most impressive about the reissue, though, is the additional material, offering a deeper insight into his creative process and showcasing the sheer volume of work that went into producing the first Bright Light Bright Light LP.
Oftentimes, anniversary reissues feel slightly undercooked, with only a slither of extra content, but this package delivers on all fronts, leaving nothing left behind. Or so we think – if there’s even more, we’re in for a ride when the next anniversary comes around!
‘Make Me Believe in Hope (Deluxe Anniversary Edition)’ is available now.
