The Brand New Heavies are celebrating 30 years of their classic album ‘Brother Sister’ with a brand new reissue.

Featuring such hits as Dream On Dreamer and Midnight At The Oasis, the LP is the acid jazz group’s biggest commercial success, peaking at No. 4 in the UK and marking the final appearance of N’Dea Davenport’s original run.

Celebrating the milestone, the expanded LP includes the original album, which has been freshly remastered by Tom Parker, along with three additional tracks: Los Burritos from the US version of the album, and the B-sides Baby Don’t Use Me and Touch Of Your Love.

Meanwhile, a second disc includes previously unheard material from the sessions, including Put Yourself In My Shoes (Demo ft. N’Dea Davenport & Jan Kincaid), which is out now.

Also featured are a selection of remixes from the likes of David Morales, Roger Sanchez and Bobby D’Ambrosio, some of which have only previously been released on vinyl promos, plus a new rework of Back To Love by Luke Mornay.

Andrew Levy says: “There’s some really great storytelling there – you might have a romantic betrayal, or an uplifting message. Every song has that push-and-pull that creates this dynamic, and I think that’s what a lot of people fell in love with.”

“You can hear it all – the human experience, the joy of creating, the struggle, the fun,” adds Simon Bartholomew. “It’s all in there!”

‘Brother Sister’ is out September 27 and available to pre-order from the official Brand New Heavies store.
