Boy George has released his latest song The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread on YouTube.
The Culture Club singer dropped the tune, penned by Benny D and Boy George himself, to mark his upcoming 60th birthday.
Alongside the release is a new music video starring Samantha Renke, who also directed the visual, with George revealing he has wanted to work with her for some time.
Speaking about the track and video, he said: “As soon as I finished this song I had only one person in mind to be in the video.
“I have talked with Samantha for a long while about working together and lockdown made it difficult. However, check out Samantha’s directorial debut.
“All the scenes and characters are filmed by her. Her humour and beauty are perfect for this song!”
George previously teased plans to release 60 new tracks ahead of his 60th birthday this Summer, and he returned with his latest track Swoon.
News of new music follows George’s announcement that a movie based on his life and career will begin filming over the summer, as he launched a search for the flick’s leading star.
‘Karma Chameleon’ will shoot “in London and around the world,” George reveals, while hinting at casting details for the highly-anticipated project in a new social media video.
After revealing Daniel Mays will play his father, the star also hinted Keanu Reeves could make an appearance, as he revealed an actor has yet to be cast as the singer himself.
“There’s only one problem – and it’s quite major… who’s going to play me,” he teased. “We’re looking for a brave young actor from anywhere in the world to take on the role of his life. And It’s going to be brilliant!”
