Boy George has unveiled the music video for his latest release ‘Swoon’.
The Culture Club frontman took to YouTube the premiere the visual and accompanying behind the scenes feature, showing the singer and director Dean Stockings discussing the shoot.
“I wanted to make a video within 24 hours. I wanted to do it in a day, but we didn’t quite pull that off,” he says. “But we have done one of our best videos.”
Dean adds: “This one just really makes me smile when I watch it. It’s just really joyous. I love it.”
“We’ve captured the spirit of the song, which is basically about people saying, ‘This one’s done… this one’s done… that one’s over.’ And it’s like, ‘No babe, you still swoon’,” continues George.
“And then you surprise them by having a comeback. And another one. And another one.”
The new track follows George’s announcement that a movie based on his life and career will begin filming over the summer, as he launched a search for the flick’s leading star.
‘Karma Chameleon’ will shoot “in London and around the world,” George reveals, while hinting at casting details for the highly-anticipated project in a new social media video.
After revealing Daniel Mays will play his father, the star also hinted Keanu Reeves could make an appearance, as he revealed an actor has yet to be cast as the singer himself.
“There’s only one problem – and it’s quite major… who’s going to play me,” he teased. “We’re looking for a brave young actor from anywhere in the world to take on the role of his life. And It’s going to be brilliant!”
While casting has yet to be confirmed, George has put Harry Styles firmly in the running to play the Culture Club frontman and previously told talkRADIO the star has “been approached or considered”.
“I know that Harry is embarking on an acting career,” George explained. “I think producers did look at him. I don’t know if it will actually happen.”
