Bonnie McKee has shared the title track from her long-awaited second studio album, ‘Hot City’.
The follow-up to lead release Slay delivers pulsing synths and a singalong, electronic chorus, somewhere between Katy Perry and Kesha (both of whom the singer-songwriter has penned hits for).
Speaking about the LP – due in the autumn – Bonnie says: “Some things will haunt you. And this album was one of them.
“I locked it away for a decade thinking nobody wanted it, but that little voice inside me kept singing. And against literally everyone in the industry’s advice, I said fuck it – I’m putting it out. For you guys, for myself.”
‘Hot City’ was originally due for release in 2013 but the album has remained in the vault since then.
