Blue have no desire to return to the Eurovision Song Contest for a second shot at victory.
The group’s 2011 entry I Can saw the UK finish in 11th place with 100 points, becoming one of the country’s more successful placements in recent years. .
But when it comes to the All Rise stars’ prospects of representing the United Kingdom for a second time, the four-piece has ruled out a comeback.
Singer Antony Costa said, “No. We’ve represented our country,” with Duncan James insisting: “We’ve ticked that box.”
The UK’s most recent entry, James Newman’s Embers, finished in last place with nil points at the Contest in Rotterdam, with management company TaP Music enlisted to scout a pop star to compete at next year’s show.
But when it comes to Britain’s prospects of winning – 25 years after Katrina and the Waves lifted the trophy with Love Shine a Light – Simon Webb remained sceptical.
He told The Sun: “Now we’re not part of Europe, I’m not sure. If the song is right. It should be about the music, but is it?”
Blue are set to hit the road with Atomic Kitten in September 2022 for their ‘Heart and Soul Tour’, celebrating 20 years since the band’s debut.
