Chris Stein has cast doubt on his future with Blondie.
The guitarist co-founded the group alongside Debbie Harry back in 1974 but, speaking to NME, the musician admitted heart issues may force him off the road.
“I don’t know if I’m going to be participating in touring going forward,” he explained. “I just have some heart bulls**t.
“I take medicine for it that’s a little fatiguing. It’s an irregular heartbeat. It’s not super-serious, but it’s just tiring and I don’t have the stamina I did when I was 30 or 40.
“So I mainly deal with the recording at this point. I was actually sitting down for the last couple of tours. I figured if BB King could do it, I could! We’ll see.”
Blondie recently released their festive track Yuletide Throwdown, marking the first time the track has been available commercially since its limited 1981 issue.
It follows the band’s ‘Blondie: Vivir En La Habana’ documentary film, which premiered earlier this year.
Blondie will hit the road with a 10-date trek across the UK in spring 2022.
