Björn Ulvaeus confused commuters when he headed to one of Stockholm’s busiest metro stations to busk.
The ABBA star hit up the Swedish capital dressed up as a cowboy to film a tribute video for his pal Tomas Ledin’s 70th birthday.
For the occasion, Björn reworked his ‘70s track Hej Gamle Man into a country song, now titled Hey Grand Ol’ Man.
In an accompanying video to go with the song, Bjorn can be seen line-dancing to the track, which has lyrics including: ‘The time has come for you to learn that girls don’t see old men/ And once you have gone invisible, you’re never seen again.’
Björn will reunite with his bandmates as a digital ABBAtar for their east London ‘ABBA Voyage’ residency at the specially-built ABBA Arena, opening May 27.
The group returned last year with ‘Voyage’ – their first studio collection since 1981 release ‘The Visitors’ – and topped the charts worldwide.
In a review of the album, Retro Pop called ‘Voyage’ “a fitting closing chapter in the tale of Sweden’s best-loved musical export”.
‘Voyage’ is available on CD, vinyl and cassette.
