Betty Boo is doing things her way as she returns with her fourth studio album ‘Rip Up The Rulebook’.
Due August 30 on her Betty Boo Records label, the 12-song set serves as the follow-up to 2022’s comeback LP ‘Boomerang’ – which earned RETROPOP’s Album of the Year title – and is preceded by the single It Was Beautiful (feat. Hex), which is out now.
On the album, the Doin’ The Do star says: “I loved making ‘Boomerang’ so much that I kept writing. I’m very proud of these songs and grateful to be back creating music full time.
“The album title ‘Rip Up The Rulebook’ is my response to stereotypical ideas about what women should be doing in their 50s.
“I have never had so much fun making music (with my friends Andy Wright and Gavin Goldberg). Long may it continue.”
The title track is a collaboration with Grandmaster Caz – the author of the lyrics to Rapper’s Delight.
‘Rip Up The Rulebook’ is available to pre-save here. Pre-order is available from the Official Betty Boo Store.
