Annie Lennox supported her musician daughter Lola when she joined her for a live radio performance of her latest single Wherever You Go with the BBC Concert Orchestra.
The Eurythmics star co-produced the track Wherever You Go and sang backing vocals during a session for the BBC’s Ken Bruce Show.
“I loved performing on @BBCRadio2 with the @BBCCO and @AnnieLennox on the @RealKenBruce show,” tweeted the star after her performance aired. “Click here to watch us perform Wherever You Go!”
Described as a love letter to missing friends and family while on your quest to start a new life, Wherever You Go proves that an ear for a good hook runs in Lola’s famous family.
“I wrote Wherever You Go about missing people,” she revealed about her latest release. “I moved to LA a few years ago, leaving behind friends, family and memories.
“Whilst navigating a new life in America, I clung to the people I left behind; losing them was a hard part of growing up and pursuing my dreams in music.
“Despite the song reflecting the challenges of longing, I wanted the music to feel positive and express the excitement that comes with having people in your life to love,” continued Lola.
“Managing long-distance relationships is a lesson in letting go and being receptive to whatever outcome life hands you; that openness is the place the music came from.”
