Anne Nolan has reason to celebrate after tests on her breasts and lymph nodes came back free of cancer.
The Nolans star and her sister Linda are both battling cancer again, with Anne undergoing treatment for stage three breast cancer and Linda fighting liver cancer alongside secondary breast cancer – her third run-in with the disease.
Speaking on Lorraine on Tuesday, Anne was in high spirits as she revealed her “prognosis is very good at the moment,” sharing: “I had an operation about two weeks ago, the results were fabulous.
“They found no cancer in any of the tissue that they took from the breast and from my lymph nodes, and that was absolutely amazing,” added Anne. “And that was because of the chemotherapy. The results were fantastic.”
Linda, meanwhile, is “waiting for the results of scans that I’ve had to see if the chemo has worked,” sharing: “I’m doing great… I’ve had my
chemo (and) it’s gone according to plan.”
Opening up on the experience of undergoing chemotherapy during the Covid-19 pandemic, Anne admitted it left her with “really bad anxiety” as she’s been unable to spend time with friends and family – aside from sister Maureen, who has relocated to care for her sister.
However, both stars urged fans to book regular check-ups, insisting: “Please don’t wait. Don’t be frightened. The longer you wait your treatment might be worse. Make an appointment and get in there. I have never not felt safe (in hospital during the pandemic).”
