Andrea Corr reflects on the year and looks to a brighter tomorrow on her new Christmas EP.
The Corrs star opts for slow-burners on her first solo festive release, simply titled Christmas Songs, with each track holding a special place in her heart, pertaining to her childhood.
Of the collection, which features Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, O Holy Night, In The Bleak Mid-Winter and the original track Begin Again, Andrea says: “These are songs that I grew up with, my father played O Holy Night in our church every Christmas Eve when we were kids.
“We had been planning this record since my visit to the hospice last year—and then the world changed, and the lyrics took on a whole new and special meaning.”
Also featured on the EP is the all-male Giovanni Consort Choir from Perth, Australia, who lend their voices across the recordings and add a true seasonal feel to the release.
