Anastacia is preparing to release her eighth studio album in 2023.
The Left Outside Alone star has been hard at work on new music and tells RETROPOP November 2022 issue the campaign for the record is set to launch in January 2023.
“It’s a project that’s never been done, I can honestly say that,” she teases. “The only thing I can say about it is the first time for everything and I like to do firsties.”
The singer-songwriter is currently on the road with her ‘I’m Outta Lockdown’ 20th anniversary tour, celebrating two decades of hits, with the superstar taking her show to more intimate theatre venues across the UK and Europe.
Of the trek, which runs through November 2022, she says: “I like the intimacy, I’m very intimate with my crowd. I like to talk to ’em. I like to have a good time.
“I mean, a big crowd is great. A big crowd means you make a lot of money. That’s really the ultimate – I’m just keeping it very real. But a small crowd allows you to talk to people and see their faces. It’s almost theatre instead of music.”
“When you get the music to meet theatre, whenever you go see a newer band – or Prince, when he wasn’t in an auditorium – those are moments that are music gold,” Anastacia adds.
The ‘I’m Outta Lockdown 22nd Anniversary Tour’ is currently playing across Europe and begins its UK leg in Basingstoke on October 30.
