Altered Images’ third studio album, ‘Bite’, is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a set of reissues.
Released in the summer of 1983, the Tony Visconti and Mike Chapman-produced LP delivered the hit singles Don’t Talk To Me About Love and Bring Me Closer, and gave the group their second UK Top 20 album.
Available as a 2CD set in 7” deluxe gatefold packaging, with an eight-page booklet, CD1 features the original album, while the bonus CD2 contains three non-album B-sides, two extended 12” versions – including the highly sought after 8 minute 30 second version of Don’t Talk To Me About Love – a live track and three single edits.
Meanwhile, a half-speed mastered 1LP on 180-gram black vinyl has an outer sleeve with obi strip, a poly-lined inner sleeve, and a 4-page insert.
This edition has been expertly mastered by Barry Grint at AIR Mastering from the original stereo tapes using precision half-speed mastering, which creates an incredibly detailed stereo image with a natural high frequency response.
Alongside the reissue, Clare Grogan and co. will perform a one-off show at London’s 229 on October 26 – the day before the LP is re-released – with tickets on sale now.
‘Bite’ is out October 27 via Demon/Edsel and available to pre-order now.
