Altered Images have released Mascara Streakz as the lead single and title track from their new album.
Led by original members Clare Grogan and Stephen Lironi, ‘Mascara Streakz’ represents the group’s first new music in almost 40 years.
The band’s new offering brings their sound up to date, with its synth-pop melody and contemporary beats an evolution from their original spiky guitar pop style.
Clare says: “This song is my homage to all the crazy nights out that I’ve had. I think it’s a metaphor for life! The fun, the dancing, the drama, the tears, the tequila shots, the lust! It was inspired by so many artists I’ve danced to around the world from Kraftwerk to the Tom Tom Club.
“A DJ saved my life many times.”
In addition to the new album, the group is set to hit the road in September for a string of headline UK tour dates.
‘Mascara Streakz’ is out August 26 and available to pre order now.
