Alison Goldfrapp is back with her second solo album, ‘Flux’, due out August 15.
The LP is the first to be released on the singer-songwriter’s own independent label, A.G. Records, and serves as the follow-up to 2023’s ‘The Love Invention’.
Speaking about the project and taking ownership of her material, Alison says: “If you’re lucky enough to have the option, owning your own masters feels like a no-brainer these days.
“While being a solo independent artist comes with its own set of challenges, it truly suits me and has given myself and the people I work with a sense of empowerment and invigoration for this album.”
‘Flux’ is preceded by the wistful lead single, Find Xanadu, which is billed as “a cosmic odyssey to a sci-fi utopia”, per a press release.
“Fizzing with energy and innovation, the song captures the magic of escapism and the allure of the unknown,” it adds.
In a social media post, the Goldfrapp star says of the tune, which was co-produced by Alison alongside Swedish songwriter Stefan Storm and Richard X: “It’s the first glimpse of what’s to come and your invitation to escape and dream with me – can’t wait for you to hear.”
‘Flux’ is out August 15 and available to pre-order from Alison Goldfrapp’s store, Amazon, HMV, Rough Trade, Townsend and more.
