ABBA have made their return to the Top 10 of the UK Singles Chart with Don’t Shut Me Down.
The track was released as the first cut from ‘Voyage’, their first album since 1981’s ‘The Visitors’, alongside I Still Have Faith In You.
Don’t Shut Me Down debuted at No. 9 on the chart dated September 10, scoring an impressive 2.3 million streams and the second-most downloads over the past seven days, becoming ABBA’s 20th UK Top 10 single.
Meanwhile, I Still Have Faith In You peaked in the Top 20 at No. 14 and topped the Official Vinyl Singles Chart following a 7” release.
ABBA’s greatest hits album ‘Gold’ also returned to the Albums Chart Top 5 for the first time since August 2008.
The group’s new singles were released digitally on Thursday, September 2, meaning the initial bout of streams and downloads up until 23.59 BST didn’t count towards this week’s chart.
Since being made available for pre-order, ‘Voyage’ has broken Universal Music UK’s record for the biggest ever album pre-order, racking over 80,000 UK sales to date.
‘Voyage’, due November 5, is available to pre-order now on CD, vinyl and cassette.
