The demand for new ABBA music is very much alive, as the Dancing Queen hitmakers topped a poll of bands fans want to reunite.
The Swedish group came atop with an impressive 40% of the vote from StubHut – 38 years after their last release.
The Super Trouper stars scored well ahead of runners-up Oasis and One Direction, which landed 28 and 18% of the vote, respectively
In addition to their catalogue of non-stop solid pop tunes, ABBA have maintained their appeal due to the use of their music in movies including Muriel’s wedding in 1995, and the recent Mamma Mia franchise.
Cher’s 2018 Dancing Queen album – and its planned follow-up – also saw an increase in sales.
Boyzone, Destiny’s Child, Sugababes, and No Doubt were also included in the top 10.
New ABBA music has been on the cards for two years now, with two songs – I Still Have Faith In You and Don’t Shut Me Down – set for release soon (hopefully).
