ABBA are finally back with their first new music in almost 40 years, according to new reports.
Arriving four decades after the band released their eighth album ‘The Visitors’, The Sun reports ABBA will unveil the first of the new tracks on Friday, September 2.
‘ABBA are finally making their comeback and plan to release their first new music in 39 years next Friday — it’s huge.’
Back in 2018, ABBA confirmed the release of two original new songs – I Still Have Faith In You and Don’t Shut Me Down.
Alongside the music, the group is also set to unveil a new live experience in London, which will follow the group’s comeback and the creation of a purpose-built theatre in East London for their hologram show.
Of the ‘ABBA Voyage’, the source adds: “Bjorn, Benny, Agnetha and Anni-Frid will all be there on the opening night. And they will finally unveil their Abba-tars, which are like holograms of themselves.
“The show will feature the Abba-tars performing and speaking to the audience. It will be like taking a step back in time for those watching.”
Further details will be confirmed during a global livestream event on September 2 at 5.45 pm BST. Tune in here.
The group is set to hit the road with the hologram tour in the near future, featuring all the band’s classic hits plus new tracks.
Speaking about the new tracks, Bjorn previously teased: “One of them is a pop tune, very danceable… The other is more timeless, more reflective, that is all I will say.
“It is Nordic sad, but happy at the same time.”
