ABBA are reportedly being offered $1 billion to take their ‘Voyage’ residency to Las Vegas.
The Swedish group returned to the charts with their comeback album of the same name – their first in 40 years – last month, with the show to open in London next spring.
And according to The Sun, ABBA could rake in more than $1 billion from a lucrative Sin City deal.
Bosses from MGM Resorts, Caesars Palace and Resorts World are reportedly pushing to secure the band’s new concert show, which features virtual ABBAtars of the group.
“The dream would be for the show to move to the States after its London run and in Vegas, it’s believed it could make almost £1 billion,” insiders reveal.
“Plans at the moment are centred around a suggested 2024 opening which would coincide with the 50th anniversary of their Eurovision win and the release of chart-topper Waterloo.
“ABBA’s appeal is global and it would be a huge showcase to have this new avatar technology on the Vegas Strip.”
In a review of the album, Retro Pop called ‘Voyage’ “a fitting closing chapter in the tale of Sweden’s best-loved musical export”.
‘Voyage’ is available on CD, vinyl and cassette.
