Boy George’s mum Dinah is out of hospital after spending two nights receiving medical care for a mystery illness.
The Culture Club frontman initially thought his mum’s issues were related to her lungs or heart, but speaking on Lorraine he said the sickness “wasn’t what we initially thought”.
“My mum is good she’s back home now. She was in hospital for two days. Luckily it wasn’t corona related, so that was good,” he smiled. “It was just getting her home from the hospital with everything that’s going on, my mum is 82 it’s not the best place for her to be.
“But saying that the people at Greenwich hospital were so great to my mum. I managed to speak to her on the phone, that was really funny,” he added. There was this really beautiful moment when the nurse was singing to my mum and she said to the nurse, ‘I can’t hear take your mask off’.”
Dinah was rushed to hospital last Thursday, and the Karma Chameleon star said doctors “won’t resuscitate if things go wrong”.
“She’s stable but they have said they won’t resuscitate her if things go wrong?” he added. “Apparently, it won’t work? How can they know. Please pray!”
George has four brothers and one sister. His dad Jeremiah died in 2003.
Elsewhere in the interview, George also teased his “emotional” forthcoming biopic. Find out what he said about the movie here.
