Sam Fender and Olivia Dean ruled the UK airwaves and smashed Singles Chart records in recent months with their hit collaboration ‘Rein Me In’, making them the undisputed King and Queen of Summer 2026.
And the Official Charts Company’s Songs of the Summer Top 10 also features a surprise appearance from the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson, whose 1982 classic ‘Billie Jean’ places at No. 7.
The success of the track – lifted from the Jackson’s seminal ‘Thriller’ album – comes on the back of renewed interest in his catalogue, thanks largely to the success of the big screen biopic ‘Michael’.
Starring the ‘Beat It’ singer’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson, in the title role, the film has already taken more than $1 billion worldwide and overtaken the Freddie Mercury biopic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ as the highest-grossing music biopic of all time.
The Lionsgate and Universal project is directed by Antoine Fuqua and produced by Graham King, with a sequel currently in the works.
