Pop powerhouse Delta Goodrem is headed to music’s biggest stage as she represents Australia at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest.
The singer-songwriter’s involvement in the show was confirmed on Monday morning (March 2) following weeks of speculation, with the star admitting she’s “honoured to represent Australia on one of the biggest and most iconic music stages in the world”.
“As a singer-songwriter, music has been my lifelong passion. I’ve always loved the creativity, individuality, and joy Eurovision brings, connecting and uniting people across the globe through music; the universal language,” she adds.
“I can’t wait to arrive in Vienna and make Australia proud.”
The hitmaker – who enjoyed global success with the likes of ‘Born To Try’, ‘Lost Without You’, ‘Out Of The Blue’ and ‘Almost Here’ – has submitted her new hit ‘Eclipse’; a soaring ballad written by the artist herself, along with Ferras Alqaisi, Jonas Myrin and Michael Fatkin (who also produced the song).
‘Eclipse’ is out now, along with a music video, set across the sand dunes of Newcastle in New South Wales.
It’s not Delta’s first brush with Eurovision; the ‘Wings’ hitmaker wrote the single ‘Eyes On Me’ from former winner Céline Dion‘s 2007 album ‘Taking Chances’ and worked extensively with another previous winner, Olivia Newton-John, even portraying her in the 2018 Lifetime mini-series ‘Olivia Newton-John: Hopelessly Devoted to You’.
The Eurovision Song Contest 2026 Semi-Finals take place on May 12 and 14, with the Grand Final held on May 16 at Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria.
