Fleetwood Mac fans are hopeful of new activity from the band after a series of new social media pages appeared online.
Over the weekend, an official Instagram account for the group was launched, with singer Stevie Nicks and drummer Mick Fleetwood among the eight followers of the page, which is currently set to private.
Additionally, a TikTok account has also appeared and, although it has no content as yet, already has almost 14,000 followers.
The Don’t Stop hitmakers last performed together in 2019 and doubt was cast over the future of the group following the death of singer, songwriter and keyboard player Christine McVie in 2022.
But that hasn’t stopped fans from sharing their excitement, with one writing on Reddit: “It would be so amazing if this amounted to something like a reunion of the remaining four.
“Has John [McVie] been coaxed out of retirement? Have Stevie and Lindsey [Buckingham] buried the hatchet? One final public tribute to Christine [McVie] and then curtains?”
“Fleetwood Mac making an official Instagram and TikTok we are cooked,” added another, while a third asked: “What the flip is about to happen?”
The appearance of the new pages coincides with Stevie’s stint as a musical guest on last weekend’s instalment of Saturday Night Live (SNL), during which she performed her new single The Lighthouse and the classic Edge Of 17.
In the past, the band’s frontwoman has ruled out a potential reunion, insisting earlier this year: “Without Christine, no can do… There is no chance of putting Fleetwood Mac back together in any way. Without her, it just couldn’t work.”
