Beyoncé has released a new remix of her ‘Cowboy Carter’ hit single Texas Hold ‘Em.
The lead track from the superstar’s latest LP galloped to the top of the charts worldwide following its February release, and with the album on track for similar success Beyoncé has dropped a ‘Pony Up’ remix.
Featuring a new verse with extra vocals and a reworked production, the mix reimagines the single with electronic drums and samples.
She sings: ‘Woke up this mornin’, my heart keeps racin’/ Straight to the bottom, we all need salvation (Come take it to the floor now, ooh)/ Need you to in this drought, take me downtown/ Gon leave the truck, whiskey, baby/ Let’s get weekend wasted/ Might as well just throw it all (Woo-woo)/ And pony up, bitch, don’t hold back on me.’
Meanwhile, in the outro she adds: ‘Pony up and salute your town/ Chasin’ our sins away, way brown/ And I’ll be damned if I cannot dance with you/ Baby, pour that sugar and liquor on me, too/ Furs, spurs, boots.’

The country-influenced LP arrived last Friday (March 29) and has already proven a massive hit, quickly becoming the most-popular album on Spotify with 76.13 million streams on its first day.
Its success was confirmed by the streamer, which wrote in a post on X: “On Friday, March 29, Beyoncé’s COWBOY CARTER became Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day in 2024 so far.”
“This is also the first time a country album holds the title this year.”
Figures for the album – which features appearances from Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus, among others – are above those for Beyoncé’s previous album ‘Renaissance’, which debuted with 43.2 million streams.
