The 100 Club, London
Whether you first fell in love with her as a teen pop sensation, a rock chick with edge, or as a miniature Eiffel Tower on ‘The Masked Singer UK’, chart-topper Tiffany has had quite the versatile career.
Rising to superstardom aged 15 with her cover of Tommy James and the Shondells’ 1960s hit I Think We’re Alone Now, the US vocalist became the first female solo artist to chart on the US Billboard 200 under 18, and the youngest female artist to hit No. 1 album with her 1987 self-titled debut.
Fast-forward to 2024 and there is still demand for Tiffany to perform to international crowds.
On March 3, she jetted to the UK to sing at London’s intimate 100 Club and not only proved that she is a cherished ‘80s icon, but one with vocals that rival her peers and the stars of today.
Performing a predominantly rock set to an audience of just 350 people, Tiffany entered the stage in a shimmery black outfit and her signature red locks with her live band.
From the off, she meant business; stripped back from any big production, the first quarter of her set featured four songs — Hey Baby, Waste Of Time, Shadows and Beautiful — taken from her two most recent studio albums, ‘Shadows’ and ‘Pieces Of Me’. While not everyone in the room was familiar with all of Tiffany’s recent material, the moment wasn’t lost on the crowd.
The remainder of the show saw her dive straight into a back catalogue of classics. Choosing the perfect song to showcase her powerhouse vocals, Tiffany wowed the crowd with her 1988 classic All This Time, which was swiftly followed up by the wholesome Danny and heartfelt ballad Feelings Of Forever.
Debuting her cover of Robbie Williams’ Angels for the first time since performing it on ITV’s Saturday night show, Tiffany revealed the new release is the first of many to drop in 2024.
Of course, no Tiffany set is complete without her No. 1 smash I Think We’re Alone Now, with its ‘80s synths reimagined as a rock production and Tiffany joined by fellow ‘80s icon Samantha Fox for the second half of the tune, which rounded out her one-hour set with the crowd singing every word.
With a voice that has only gotten better with time, be sure to check out Tiffany when she returns to the UK this summer!
